Tours - Horse Drawn Vineyard Tour - In the 1850's, Colonel William Nash, former owner of this property and whose family founded Nashville, Tennessee, was among the first to plant vineyards here. With our 14th century Tuscan Castle and Winery as a backdrop, relive the history as you go through the vineyards in an 1800's horse-drawn carriage, just as Nash did!On this remarkable tour, you will continue past the first schoolhouse in Napa Valley, and the Nash House - formerly a stagecoach stop and home to Colonel Nash. The tour winds past vintage winemaking equipment and you may even see Native American petroglyphs on your way to view our own serenely beautiful Lake Mario.

Education - You can be the winemaker and create your own “Super Tuscan” wine, like our 'LA CASTELLANA" Super Tuscan, in this exciting, exhilarating and "over-the-top blending seminar. Join our knowledgeable staff as you take up the beaker and syringe and develop your own "secret" formula from our Sangiovese, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon wines! A great way to learn about the craft of winemaking while tasting some new blends!

The term “Super Tuscan” is used to describe the pioneering wines labeled as “Vini da Tavola” made in the central Italian region of Toscana in the 1970’s. Super Tuscans, such as Sassicaia and Tignanello, were both initially marketed by Antinori. The “Vini da Tavola” denomination was replaced by IGT (Indicazione Geografica Tipica) in 1994 but the term “Super Tuscan” remains. Super Tuscans often used other grapes, especially Cabernet Sauvignon, making them ineligible for DOCG classification under traditional rules. Today, the term refers to Tuscan red wines of very high quality that buck the traditional and allow for a new blending. Now, you be the winemaker and create your own “Super Tuscan” wine!
