
In 1823 Padre José Altimira, founder of Mission San Francisco Solano in Sonoma, led the expedition into Napa Valley and founded the town of Napa. American farmers began arriving in the 1830s. Following the repeal of prohibition Christian Brothers made the move to Napa and soon established their wine as one of the leading brands in the state's budding industry. |
