I n the heart of the Napa Valley Stag's Leap District,
nestled on a hillside next to the breathtaking Stags
Leap Cliffs, lies Pillar Rock Vineyard producing only
one wine, Cabernet Sauvignon.

The wine's
elegant and supple characteristics result from the
unique influence of 40-year old vines contained within
the small 22 acre vineyard. Only the finest grapes
are selected for its limited 650 case production.
Pillar
Rock cabernets are ceremoniously uncorked at some
of the world’s finest restaurants and hotels.
The elegant
and supple characteristics of Pillar Rock result form
the fully ripe hand picked grapes. We then select
the best vineyard grapes to fully reveal the combination
of site, soil, and weather. Cary Gott, the winemaker,
then adds his magical touch. The grapes are custom
crushed and aged in the New French oak barrels from
the Never and Allier forests. Our highly acclaimed
1999 vintage barrel lot achieved #2 at the 2001 Napa
Valley Wine Auction. The 2000 vintage won the ultimate
prize of being #1 at the barrel auction. The 2001
and 2002 were rated outstanding by James Laube, the
Wine Spectator.
Cary
is the fourth generation of his family in the California
wine business. It's been a few years since Cary started
as a cellarman for the Napa Wine Company, but along
the way, he founded Montevina Winery, Corbett Canyon,
and later ran Sterling Vineyards and Mumm Napa Valley
while serving as Executive VP of Production for Seagram
Chateau and Estates. Now, Cary focuses on the creation
of new wineries and vineyards through his firm Vineyard
and Winery Estates. In addition to Pillar Rock Vineyard,
his clients include Pina, Chappellett, Plumpjack,
D.R. Stephens, Renwood, Fantesca, Round Pond, Match,
and Silver Rose. Cary Gott, a college friend of Ron
Kuhn's, is the reason the Kuhns decided to visit Napa.

Ask for
the top vineyard management companies in the Napa
