The winery's 60-plus acres of estate Cabernet Sauvignon in Napa Valley's Rutherford District continue to form the foundation of Caymus Cabernets. The Wagners also farm several other vineyards in the Napa Valley, ranging in location from the valley floor to mountain slopes. In addition, Caymus purchases grapes from selected Napa Valley growers who . . .
When Bill and Kathy Collins purchased 54 acres of Zinfandel vines in northern Napa Valley in 1968, there was not much of a market for fine wine in the U.S. But at the time they were content hauling the grapes down to their Los Altos Hills home and making wine in a friend’s basement. Little did they know that in less than a decade they’d make a wine that Robert . . .
The winery is owned by South Korean businessman Hi Sang Lee. Mr. Lee has been an avid wine collector and enthusiast for many years and in South Korea founded a fine wine distribution company (Nara Food Company). He has long held an appreciation of Napa Valley, especially for Cabernet Sauvignon. Mr. Lee's passion for Napa wine has strongly influenced . . .
We source fruit from a handful of dedicated growers and a dozen vineyard blocks. Our growers provide us with continuity of high quality fruit, and we pay them fairly and reliably, in vintages of scarcity and excess. In an era of corporate grape contracts, our long-term agreements consist simply of mutual high regard and a handshake. We make Cabernet Sauvignon from . . .
We allow the grapes to take center stage in every barrel, bottle and glass of our wines," says Brian Fleury, and his boutique winery reflects that approach. A successful Bay Area businessman who brought his family to the Napa Valley ten years ago, he turned his passion for collecting fine wine into a passion for making it. Fleury Estate Winery now owns . . .
Originally, founded on a spot along Mill Creek known as the Frog Farm, Frog’s Leap now makes its home in the heart of Rutherford in the historic Red Barn. Our family-owned winery has been farming responsibly and producing wines since 1981. Presented with a warm sense of humor ~ our motto says it all “Time's Fun When You're Having Flies”. Enjoy your virtual visit!
In 1964, Louis Honig purchased a 68-acre ranch in the heart of the Napa Valley and planted it with Sauvignon blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. For the next few years, Louis sold the grapes to neighboring wineries with the dream of retiring one day from his San Francisco advertising business and making wine from his vineyard in Rutherford.
Martin Estate encompasses roughly twelve acres. Eight of these acres were planted in 1996 with 17,000 vines. Seven acres of tightly spaced Cabernet Sauvignon, Clones 4, 6 and 337 surround the winery and, at the south end of the property, one acre of Merlot. Split redwood stakes and non-galvanized wire were used as the trellising system to avoid the . . .
When Tony Peju purchased the 30-acre “Stephanie Vineyard” in 1983, it had been producing wine grapes since the early 1900s and some of the vines much longer. Originally planted to Cabernet Sauvignon and Colombard, the fruit was sold to a number of wineries by the vineyard’s former owners. Peju continued to sell grapes initially and continued to improve the . . .
The Piña name (it means “fruit of the pine” in Spanish) is familiar as one of the most respected vineyard management companies in the Napa Valley---farming prestigious estates including Pahlmeyer, O’Shaughnessy, Cafaro, Dina (Cimarossa Vineyards), Emilio’s Terrace, O’Brien Family Winery, Gemstone, Howell At the Moon, Hughes, Johnson (Bisou), . . .
In 2002, Valeria and Agustin Huneeus' dream of the Quintessential Wine Estate, one vineyard that produces one singular estate wine, was realized with the opening of the winery at Quintessa. Walker Warner Architects of San Francisco designed the winery to reflect Agustin and Valeria Huneeus' desire for an inconspicuous structure that would blend . . .
Raymond Vineyards, founded in 1971, is one of Napa Valley’s great estates. The winery’s family tree is entwined with the earliest foundations of the Napa Valley: the Raymond family arrived in Napa in 1933 and became deeply connected to the valley’s winemaking origins after Roy Raymond, Sr. married Martha Jane Beringer in 1936, whose family had . . .

Founded in 1972, Rutherford Hill Winery is a pioneer in the development of California Merlot. The grape growers who founded Rutherford Hill carefully studied the geography of the region and capitalized on climate and soil conditions that resembled those of Pomerol, the small but distinctive Merlot-growing region of Bordeaux. What a promising discovery that was . . .
After purchasing the vineyard in 1994, we decided that we would convert the old redwood, board and batten barn that had been on the property since the prohibition era into our future winery. In 1997 we began the meticulous process of preserving and restoring this Napa Valley landmark. The interior of the existing barn was converted into our hospitality . . .
Who would have guessed Napa Valley, a small pioneer community established during the gold rush days would flourish into one of the most prestigious wine growing regions in the world today? Surrounded by its purple hued mountains, Sequoia Grove Winery sits on 22 acres right in the heart of the valley floor in an important region referred to as the Rutherford . . .
We purchased this property in 1997. The prior owners were in bankruptcy and there was much to do to restore the main house, yard, gardens and most importantly the vineyard to a respectable condition. The vineyard had been planted years earlier on AXR-1 rootstock, promised by UC Davis to all in the business to be phyloxora resistant. As we all found ou . . .
David Abreu farms our vineyard organically (and very carefully!) to bring forth intense flavors from our Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, and Chardonnay grapes. After fermentation, Fredrik ages our Cabernets in 100% new French oak for 20-24 months. This combination of nurtured terroir and gentle encouragement in the winery gives our . . .
Arriving in the Napa Valley in 1972, Jim and JoAnna Sullivan purchased property in Rutherford, which sits in the heart of the Napa Valley. They came with a vision: to meld art and wine, specifically wines that reflect the beautiful and unique terroir. Jim Sullivan, a graphic designer, had formerly worked on projects for the Monkees and other 60's rockbands . . .
Today, while its wines are extraordinary, the mission of Swanson Vineyards is straightforward: to celebrate the simple pleasures in life, made better with wine. And the winery continues to evolve into something even more extraordinary.
Tres Sabores means “Three Flavors” in Spanish, and in each of our wines, you’ll find three equally savory, yet distinct tastes: the Terroir, or flavor embodied by the unique location of our ranch; the Vine, or distinct character of the grape variety; and the Artisan, or winemaker’s personal contribution of style and intuition. When appropriately balanced, these . . .
The winery directly manages 226 acres of its own vineyards in Napa Valley (Yountville), 196 acres in Monterey County (near the Santa Lucia highlands) and 400 acres in Paso Robles (San Luis Obispo County). Our California wines source fruit from California's finest coastal vineyard locations including Napa, Sonoma, Monterey and Santa Maria . . .
Family tradition. We have been in the business of making fine wine since the early fifteen hundreds. Of course, prior to 1902 our winemaking heritage took place in Italy. But this is no idle pastime. For the last 100 years we have been making wine in California. Now both William Harrison and Mario Perelli-Minetti (William's uncle) continue the family tradition in . . .
ZD Chardonnay is set apart from most Chardonnay in the marketplace because of its distinctive style, the quality of its production, and the consistency with which it is produced. Its style is based on four elements, and each element makes an important contribution to the overall production of the final wine. First, ZD's style is to blend Chardonnay grapes . . .
