Charter Oak Winery StarStarStarStar
Charter Oak WineryCharter Oak Winery is a small boutique producer of one of the most exceptional world-class Zinfandels. Charter Oak wine is unfined and unfiltered. The grapes are fermented on natural yeast. I use tools crafted by my grandfather (Nonno in Italian) to punch down the cap three times a day. I work the must into a foaming lather. No one makes wine quite this way. We believe the secret to our success is the natural fermentation and the punch down of the cap with hand-made wooden tools, which is done religiously over and over. There is nothing quite as beautiful than to see the sun shining down on the purple grape juice as it bubbles to the top. I live for this and it nourishes my soul.

Chase Cellars StarStarStarStar
Chase CellarsAt S. E. Chase Family Cellars, we have a deep appreciation for old vines. Planted in 1903, the vines are head pruned, dry-farmed and are planted on St. George rootstock. The gravely soil combined with a slight slope consistently produces the most exuberant and expressive Zinfandel grapes in the Napa Valley . These unique grapes create one of the most robust Zinfandels from the Napa Valley region. Our vineyard side tasting area allows you to enjoy our outstanding views while enjoying our latest releases. Sit under 135 year-old olive trees and enjoy the breeze. Bring along a picnic if you wish. We are open by appointment only so be sure to call or email first to arrange your vineyard tour and tasting.

Chateau Montelena StarStarStarStar
Chateau MontelenaWe defined the Chateau Montelena style in 1972 – fruit, first and foremost, balanced by an underlying structure of natural acidity for an elegant and balanced wine that provides both drinkability and ageability. Winemaking at Chateau Montelena is regarded as a continuous process that begins in the vineyard, which is why we use the term “winegrowing”. Exceptional wine can only be made with exceptional grapes.

Chateau Potelle StarStarStarStar
Marketta and Jean-Noël Fourmeaux came to California in 1980 as Official Wine tasters for the French government. "We came to spy," jokes Marketta. In reality, they were here on official business--to taste California wines and learn about all aspects of California winemaking philosophy and vineyard management. After six months and tasting 2000 wines, they sent a telegram back home saying "looks good, we stay". They returned to France, packed up their two young daughters, Mariette and Clarisse, and moved to California in 1983.

Clos Pegase StarStarStarStar
Clos PegaseCan a winery elevate the craft of winemaking to a fine art? Of course it can. Can a winery dedicate itself as a temple to works of fine art? Why not? But can a winery that does one also achieve the other? Good question. Now, if you were to put that question to Bacchus, god of wine, mischief-maker and generally acknowledged originator of the practice of horsing around, we know just where he'd send you: straight to the horse's mouth. And not just any horse. He'd send you to Pegasus, the winged horse of ancient myth whose hooves brushed against the earth, unleashing the sacred spring of the muses. Lucky earth. That spring gave life to grapevines, and the wine that flowed from them inspired poetry and art in all who drank it.

Corison Wines StarStarStarStar
Corison WinesCathy Corison produces two limited-production Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignons, hand-crafted without compromise from some of the finest vineyards in the Napa Valley. The fruit for the Corison Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the western benchland near Rutherford, where deep, stony alluvial soils promote ideal growing conditions for the Cabernet vine. Formerly noted as one of the great "virtual" Napa Valley wineries, Corison has now built a new barn/winery on route 29 between Rutherford and St. Helena. The winery is situated amidst the vines of Kronos Vineyard, which is the source of Corison's distinctive Kronos Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon.

Cuvaison Winery StarStarStarStar
Cuvaison WineryCuvaison Winery is situated on the historic Silverado Trail in northern Napa Valley. In 1969 Thomas Cotrell and Thomas Parkhill, both Silicon Valley engineers, founded Cuvaison with a 27-acre vineyard at the winery’s present location. New York publisher Oakleigh Thorne purchased the winery in 1974 and then appointed the Swiss-born Philip Togni as Winemaker. In 1979, the Schmidheiny family of Switzerland purchased Cuvaison as well as 400 acres of prime vineyard land in the Carneros region in southern Napa Valley. The fall of 1998 marked the purchase of the historic 170-acre Brandlin Ranch on Mt. Veeder.

Dillon Vineyards StarStarStarStar
Dillon Vineyards is a small vineyard, located in the Yountville Appellation, south of the town of Yountville on the floor of the Napa Valley. This unique location has an exceptionally delicate micro climate for growing Chardonnay grapes. During the growing season, the vineyard is cooled by the gentle breezes coming off the San Pablo Bay which gives this area a cooler temperature and higher humidity than other parts of the Napa Valley. The cooler temperature allows for an extended growing season and optimizes the Chardonnay's varietal character.

Domaine Carneros StarStarStarStar
Domaine CarnerosDomaine Carneros in the heart of Carneros, is the California expression of the tradition and excellence of its founder, Champagne Taittinger. Established in 1987, Domaine Carneros is considered a regional landmark. Exquisite views of endless vineyard-covered hills are the perfect setting to savor our wines. The main château and terrace are open 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. daily.  The last service of the day is at 5:45 p.m.  We are closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. All of our wines bear the Carneros Appellation, with 95% of our fruit coming from estate vineyards. In April 2008, we received organic certification of all Estate vineyards by the California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF).

Dominus Estate StarStarStarStar
Dominus EstateOur philosophy is very traditional—that is, in order to produce great wine we need the best possible grapes. Therefore, we concentrate our efforts in the vineyard. The vines are meticulously manicured—we believe in crop-thinning, "nettoyage," washing the grapes, and other labor-intensive activities. During each visit to California, Christian Moueix spends most of his time in the vineyard, not only because he loves it, but also to better understand the natural expression of the vintage.

Duckhorn Vineyards StarStarStarStar
Duckhorn Wine Company is a collection of small winery estates focused on site-specific wines of distinction from the Napa and Anderson valleys. The Duckhorn Wine Company family includes Duckhorn Vineyards, Paraduxx, and Goldeneye.

Dutch Henry Winery StarStarStarStar
Dutch Henry WineryEstablished in 1992, Dutch Henry Winery is a small family-owned and operated winery in Napa Valley. The Chafen family takes great pride in caring for and nurturing all aspects of the winery and vineyards. Less and Maggie Chafen have grown grapes in Napa Valley for nearly 20 years. Their son, Scott Chafen oversees the daily operations of Dutch Henry Winery

Ehlers Estate StarStarStarStar
Ehlers Estate's Vineyards are farmed biodynamically by Winemaker and Vineyard Manager Rudy Zuidema. The biodynamic farming system was conceived by Rudolf Steiner, an Austrian scientist and philosopher, who recognized the nutritional depletion of soils, and loss of quality in produce and livestock on farms that introduced chemicals and synthetic fertilizers at the turn of the century.

Elyse Wine Cellars StarStarStarStar
Elyse Wine CellarsWhat will you find in a bottle of Elyse or Jacob Franklin wine? I make wines that I want to sit down and enjoy – juicy, rich, voluptuous wines. I like a little oak, but I don’t want it to be overpowering – I want to taste the fruit. I love wines that pair well with food. A meal without wine is eating; a meal with wine is dining – it’s a conversation, an event. It’s what wine is about. When I make a wine, my tastes and techniques will influence the process, but what’s most important is the fruit. The fruit dictates what the wine will be. We’re fortunate to work with an amazing group of growers and vineyards, whose fruit keeps taking us to wonderful places. We started out making Zinfandel, then expanded into Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah. No doubt those will continue to be the focus of our winemaking, but now we’ve made a tiny quantity of Chardonnay, and soon we’ll be releasing our first Pinot Noir. What wines we make after that will depend on the fruit that’s available, because I just can’t say no to wonderful fruit.

Falcor Wine Cellars StarStarStarStar
Our goal is to make wines that are in balance, with no one taste element dominating the others. Wines that are in balance are very drinkable on release and, if aged properly, will retain this balance while adding additional taste complexities. Ray's extensive experience, knowledge and long-term relationships with local growers have enabled Falcor to source some of the finest fruit from prime Napa and Sonoma vineyards for our limited-production wines.

Frank Family Vineyards StarStarStarStar
Approximately 20 acres of vines were planted on Winston Hill starting in1991. Cabernet Sauvignon is the primary variety, along with small amounts of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Sangiovese. Through site specific vineyard management, several clonal selections are matched with the appropriate rootstocks. Extensive hand labor balances the vine canopy and maintains the yields to produce rich and concentrated wines. The soil consists of well-drained, volcanic deposits and sandstone. Due to its southwest exposure, Winston Hill has a high radiant value. Typical warm summer days give way to cool nights with soft mountain breezes. The vineyard has an average rainfall of 24-36 inches per year.

Gemstone Vineyard StarStarStarStar
Gemstone VineyardWhat began many years ago as a casual interest escalated into a passionate search for a place to make a very unique wine. When we found our tiny jewel-like vineyard nestled between rolling knolls in Napa Valley, Gemstone seemed the perfect name. This rocky slope yields only a minuscule crop of intensely flavored small berries, but after years of hard work and worry, when we finally put the first wine to our lips, you couldn't have chiseled the grins from our faces! Best of all, we knew it expressed the unique personality we sought.
