What is a Dessert Wine?
A dessert wine is basically any sweet wine that you would have with the dessert portion of your meal, but the definition varies. For instance, in the UK a dessert wine is any sweet wine drunk during a meal as opposed to the fortified wine drunk before a meal. In the US, however, a dessert wine is legally classified as any wine with more than 14% alcohol which includes all fortified wines.
