Vincent
Arroyo Winery produces over 6,000 cases from
estate vineyards. Every year we make Chardonnay, Cabernet,
Petite Sirah, Merlot, Sangiovese and a couple red blends –
in fact, our dog even makes a wine! We consider Petite Sirah
to be our signature wine, and develop those vineyards into
several different bottlings – a “Napa Valley”
Petite Sirah which is a blend our many Petite Sirah vineyards;
2 vineyard designated Petite Sirahs, Greenwood Ranch and Rattlesnake
Acres; a Winemaker’s Reserve Petite Sirah which is barrel-aged
for 34 months; and a Petite Sirah Port. Most of these wines
are sold on a waiting-list basis.

Chateau
Montelena - We defined the Chateau Montelena
style in 1972 – fruit, first and foremost, balanced
by an underlying structure of natural acidity for an elegant
and balanced wine that provides both drinkability and ageability.
Winemaking at Chateau Montelena is regarded as a continuous
process that begins in the vineyard, which is why we use the
term “winegrowing”. Exceptional wine can only
be made with exceptional grapes.

Calistoga
Cellars. - Without friendship, wine is altogether
one-dimensional. Something to wash down a meal. But to those
who love wine and wine-making, friendship is their core inspiration.
From the winery to the tasting room to the dinner party, hospitality,
celebration, dialogue, graciousness, romance and social gathering
all contribute equally to the experience that is wine. Friendship
likely never before has been taken to such lengths in the
wine making business as when the original partners from around
the United States joined forces to create Calistoga Cellars.
Not the typical story of abandoning the rat race to settle
into an earth-bound lifestyle in a leafy little wine country
hamlet, Calistoga Cellars instead is owned primarily by ambitious
professionals who keep their day jobs, but contribute immeasurably
to the winery's success.

Diamond
Terrace - In 1998 we realized our dream of owning
a high quality vineyard by purchasing a 16-acre parcel on
Diamond Mountain near the town of Calistoga. We moved our
family of six onto the property and determined that Diamond
Terrace was the perfect name for our new home.

ZD
Wines - The success of ZD Wines can only be attributed
to the dedication and winemaking philosophy of the de Leuze
family. As ZD Wines moves forward, the family continues to
grow. Norman and Rosa Lee's grandchildren represent the 4th
generation to contribute their time and skills to the winery.
In 1996 the de Leuze family purchased an historical, 33-acre
vineyard in Carneros. Formerly owned by Irish immigrant Patrick
Flanagan, the property is planted with 26 acres of Chardonnay.
Another seven acres was planted with Pinot Noir which produced
its first vintage in 1999. As the winery continues to grow,
so does the vision of ZD Wines.

Trefethen
Vineyards - Designed and built in 1886 by a Scottish
sea captain Hamden McIntyre, the winery was originally known
as Eshcol. He designed it to use a "gravity-flow"
system. A horse-drawn winch would bring grapes to the third
floor for crushing; gravity would then carry the juice to
the second floor for fermenting and eventually to the first
floor for aging. The winery was heralded in the local papers
of the time as a "model farm". Known as the "Big
Four", is the small cluster of McIntyre-designed wineries
-- including Greystone (now the West Coast campus of the Culinary
Institute of America), Far Niente, and Inglenook (now the
Niebaum-Coppola Winery).

Bighorn
Cellars was founded by Bill Hill to combine his
two ambitions -- developing ultra premium vineyard sites and
handcrafting limited quantities of exceptional wines from
the regions where they grow best. Bighorn's mission is to
produce wines from exceptional vineyards in the best growing
regions for each varietal. For example, we make Cabernet Sauvignon
and Merlot from Napa Valley, Chardonnay from Carneros and
Pinot Noir from Sonoma Coast and Willamette Valley, Oregon.
Bill Hill's extensive experience developing 'Grand Cru' vineyards
in many different geographies makes this unique multi-regional
approach possible. Look for additional releases in new regions
in the near future.

Robert
Biale Vineyards - The Biale family, immigrants
from Northern Italy, began growing grapes in Napa in the 1930’s
– Zinfandel only. Zinfandel, California’s adopted
grape, was widely planted by immigrants throughout the State’s
history as a highly flavorful red grape well-suited for the
climate. Each harvest, the Biale’s fruit was routinely
sold for bulk wine. For decades before the global demand for
Napa Valley wine, one winery, the Napa Valley Co-Op winery,
processed almost half of Napa’s grapes. Before big companies
moved in, most of Napa’s fruit was grown by local farmers
like the Biales. In fact, prunes and walnuts were as valuable
as grapes in those days, and the Biale farm produced its share
along with eggs and vegetables

Shafer
Vineyards - I never would have started a winery
without a vineyard, since the greatest factor in consistent
wine quality is consistent grape quality. And owning your
vineyards allows you to maintain consistent quality, year
after year. After growing grapes for a number of years, I
realized our vineyards had the potential to make outstanding
wine. I'd lucked out by selecting a hillside vineyard in what
would later become the Stags Leap District, and that's where
our Hillside Select Cabernet still comes from today. But as
great as the area is for Cabernet, we realized it wasn't the
best for Chardonnay. That's when we bought some land in Carneros
- our Red Shoulder Ranch.
